Your inner world,
made visible
An IFS Parts Mapping tool — created by On Point Therapy
This tool is based on Internal Family Systems (IFS) — a way of understanding yourself as made up of many different parts, each with their own feelings, beliefs, and roles. At the centre is Self — the calm, curious, compassionate presence that is always there, even when it's hard to find.
The four types of parts
Self
Your core — the calm, wise presence at the centre. Not a part, but the one who leads with compassion. Grows in leadership over time.
Managers
Parts that work proactively to keep life running — often through control, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or vigilance.
Firefighters
Parts that react when exiles are triggered — often through numbing, distraction, anger, or other ways of putting the fire out fast.
Exiles
Younger, more vulnerable parts carrying pain, fear, or shame — often hidden deeper in the system, protected by the others.
How to use this tool
1
Add a part using the button in the top right. Give it a name, choose its role, and fill in what you know — you can always return to add more.
2
Arrange the map. Drag parts around the canvas. Place Self at the centre and position parts where they feel right — closer or further away, overlapping if they crowd each other.
3
Adjust size and depth. Use the +/− buttons on each part to show how large or activated it feels. Right-click any part to adjust its depth — exiles often live deeper, appearing faded and behind other parts.
4
Watch Self grow. Use the ✦ Self slider in the header to show Self expanding in leadership as your inner work deepens over time.
5
Save your work regularly using the Export button — this saves a file to your device. Use Import to reload it next time. Without exporting, your map may be lost if you clear your browser.
🔒
Your privacy. Everything you add stays entirely on your own device. No data is sent anywhere — not to On Point Therapy, not to any server. Only you can see what you create here. Export regularly to keep a personal backup.
